JSJBF Bands at Asbury First Saturday

Date: Saturday, February 6, 2010

Time: 6:00pm - 10:00pm

Location: Il Pavone Gelateria and Caffe,The Passion Group, The Shoppes at the Arcade

City/Town: Asbury Park, NJ

DescriptionFirst Saturday Asbury Park (FSAP) is a regular monthly shopping, dining and entertainment event centered in downtown Asbury Park which often has seasonal satellite events at the boardwalk, parks and other city venues.

JSJBF artists will be playing at multiple venues:

Il Pavone Gelateria and Caffe – The Matt Wade Jazz Trio

This up-and-coming young jazz trio is lead by Matt Wade, a graduate of Youth Project, the Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues Foundation’s youth and education program.

The Passion Group – Eddy Cooper and the Scant Chance Band

A high-energy blues band featuring Eddy Cooper and Gary Cavico, two of the Shore’s top singer-songwriters, with Gary on lead guitar.

The Shoppes at the Arcade - Eryn Shewell

Eryn founded her own Eryn Shewell Band in 2007, a group that has grown to up to nine pieces that showcases her original compositions with a few of Eryn’s favorite cover songs thrown in for fun. Within the first year the band was nominated for three Asbury Park Music awards including best female vocalist. She has kept the band busy playing in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Nashville as well as recording her debut album. Eryn pours her heart and soul into her music and puts it all out on display for anybody who will listen. Her songs are personal yet easily accessible. Addicting melodies and catchy hooks draw you in to the experiences of her young life. Her blues-rock songs like "Anymore" are full of attitude, songs like "Simple" are comforting, while "I Don’t Know" and “One More Melody” reflect the doubt of her younger years and “I Want You for Breakfast” is just plain old naughty fun.

In addition, The Asbury Park High School Marching Band will strut their stuff, taking jazz to the streets, shops, restaurants, art galleries and other venues across town. Make Your Own Mardi Gras Mask Master Mask Maker Tomaso Migliaccio will be on hand at Stacy Gemma - 644 Cookman Avenue - with a limited number of handmade Mardi Gras masks. For a $20 donation to the Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues Foundation, visitors can individualize with feathers, beads, baubles, and other festive embellishments.
